CLIENT: the bar convent LIVING HERITAGE CENTRE

SCOPE: DESIGN, BUILD & INSTALL a new exhibition

Since October 2023, Unusual Projects has been working with the brilliant team at The Bar Convent, delivering an exhibition worthy of this world-class medieval scroll. The brand-new Treasures Gallery opened in Spring 2025, bringing this secret document to light in all its glory.

The Curatorial team at the Bar Convent discovered an incredibly rare 15th- century Arma Christi roll. A hidden treasure tucked away in a shoebox, now one of the finest examples ever found!

We formed a team with the amazing creative designers Martin and Lindsay from Lima Studios to deliver this turn key exhibition. The previous exhibition was cleared and a new exhibition focusing on the Arma Christi was developed.

We commissioned a bespoke, conservation grade show case from the wonderful team at Glasshaus which is central to the display.

Our in house team produced the exhibition works including a tactile replica of the Arma Christi. An AV copy of the scroll which allows visitors to view the historic document in full was created by our friends at Four Communications. The stunning graphics were produced & installed by Aruba Creative.

This has been a truly collaborative project and great fun to deliver.
