Wrexham Museum of Two Halves: a Football Museum for Wales and a new Wrexham Museum, that together delivers a visitor destination, a community asset and learning hub for Wrexham and for Wales.

UP delivered an Interactive and Prop package, bringing the story of Welsh Football and the history of Wrexham to life through immersive play and exhibits showcasing Wrexham's heritage.

UP were brought on board at the Technical Design stage to provide our expertise in creating engaging, robust, visitor focused interactives. We have worked closely with the teams at Hub Build, Haley Sharp Design and Wrexham City Borough Council to develop a series of interactives aimed at a wide audience, including hands-on learning opportunities, engaging audio visual experiences, and thematic setworks. This has been a graphic heavy project and we worked closely with the Hub’s artworker and specialist graphics contractor, Leach, to deliver these elements that help bring the museum and our interactives to life.

Visitors have the opportunity to test their reaction time against historic Welsh goalkeepers, design their own football badge, role play at a stadium refreshment stand, and immerse in a football changing room with Welsh shirts for dress up and photo opportunities.

Our programme ran from January 25 to March 26, tying in closely with key milestones set out by Hub Build and the wider client team. The budget across both packages was manageable, with the client team understanding the requirements of delivering engaging and robust interactives and props. We ensured the budget and programme were maintained, making efficiencies where possible while not compromising on our usual high quality.

The client and wider team have been extremely positive about the project, complementing us throughout, from our design input and expertise, great communication and attention to detail, to our positive can do attitude bought to the site installation.
